In this study, it mainly aims at the policy requirements of national and provincial acceleration of the incubation of small (city) town with characteristics. The development course and the status quo of construction of small towns in Guangdong Province are sorted out, and the advanced experience of planning and construction of the domestic and foreign small (city) town with characteristics is referred, and the planning working methods suitable for the development requirements of small (city) town with characteristics are explored from the aspects including the positioning, operation, urban design and planning layout and so on, and the construction strategy and path in the aspects including the shaping of industry with characteristics, promoting style improvement, improving of supporting facilities, carrying forward regional culture and pushing the co-construction and sharing.
