On the afternoon of October 16, the president Qiu Yanqing and his party headed for Zhuhai regardless of hardship to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhuhai Orbita Aerospace Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Huiyu Intelligence Survey Technology Co., Ltd. The entourages included relevant personnel of the departments such as Urban Development Research Center, Large Data Center and the Department of Production and Operation.

In the afternoon of September 22, 2017, in order to fully understand the development dynamics of planning informationization of the counterparts in the urban planning industry and carry out technological cooperation, President Qiu Yanqing... visited Wuhan Planning and Design Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Planning Institute") and had formal discussion, exchanged ideas in terms of planning informationization technology application and research on planning big data innovation.

On the morning of September 18, Zhang Shaokang, Director of Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangdong Province and Chief Planner Li Yongjie visited our institute for investigation and guidance; the related personnel from Urban-Rural Planning Section and Administration Office accompanied to investigate. 

Our institute and China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp. Ltd. (CCEED) concluded strategic cooperation framework agreement on September 11.

In order to better implement the spirit of Provincial 12th Congress of Party Representatives, Provincial Rural Poverty Alleviation and Development Work Conference, "I Draw A Blueprint for Beautiful Villages"- -2017 Nan Yue Village (Regulation) Planning Volunteer Activity cosponsored by the Provincial Agricultural Office, Provincial Homebuilding Office hall, League Committee, Education Department, Civilization Office, Poverty Relief Office, Nanfang Media Group, and Provincial Volunteers Federation, and co-organized by the Provincial Association of Urban Planning, the relevant universities and other units, was officially launched in the morning of July 19, 2017 in Nanfang Media Group.

In the morning of May 27, 2017, it was the great honor for our institute to invite Professor Li Xiaojiang, the former president of China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, to make an academic lecture titled "innovation space and space innovation".

In the morning of May 25, Li Zhigang, the dean of School of Urban Design of Wuhan University, and his fellows made an informal discussion at our research institute and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. President Qiu Yanqing, Secretary Qian Zhongjiang of our research institute as well as the directors responsible for Human Resources Department, Chief-engineer Office, Planning II, Planning V and other departments participated in the discussion exchange meeting.

In order to track the industry hotspot, activate the technical personnel's innovation vigor, and further promote the construction of "research-based" planning institute, our institute launched the 5^th "Nan Yue Cup" design competition in April, 2017. The theme of this activity was "characteristic villages and towns design" and "healthy and active block design". Each design department made positive response to the competition, and a total of 17 contest entries were received from 10 departments, namely, Planning I, Planning II, Planning III, Planning IV, Planning V, Planning VI, Urban Design Institute, Architecture Institute, Policy Research Center, Landscape Studio.
